Description

Himalayan Red Rice has been grown in South central Asia for many centuries. It is good in rice salads and rice pilafs and goes well with steamed vegetables, grilled fish and light meats.

Recipe: Rinse rice. Bring 2 1/2 cups lightly salted water or stock to boil. Add 1 cup rice and stir. Cover and reduce heat, simmer 20 minutes or until desired texture is obtained. Remove from heat. Let rest covered for 5 minutes. Drain any excess liquid. Rice maybe cooled by rinsing in cold water.
Makes 6 1/2-cup servings.
