A versatile paste base for any seafood application made from lobster, shrimp, crab and clams. Smart Sodium 400 Reduced Sodium Seafood Base has a combination of shellfish as the first ingredient, and contains no added mono-sodium glutamate (MSG). Prepared, the base has the pleasant flavor and aroma characteristic of seafood stock while offering a reduced sodium level.
To prepare stock, add base to cold or lukewarm water and stir immediately with a wire whip to dissolve. Bring to a boil. A soup base makes an excellent foundation for creating or enhancing stocks, sauces, and gravies. Use prepared stock to create home-style soups or to enhance pasta or rice dishes.
