Description

A useful herb with beans, dried peas, pork, game, and sausages. A small amount added to vinegar makes a flavorful infusion.Savory was brought to America by English colonists to remind them of gardens they left behind. It is aromatic and warming, used in stuffings and dressings, & often boiled with legumes. It has a strong flavor while uncooked but loses much of its flavor under prolonged cooking. It may also be used medicinally, it is a stimulant, and is also a known aphrodisiac.
