    • Discard half of the starter and add 1/2 cup of flour and 1/2 cup of water to the remaining starter. Mix well.
    • Cover loosely and let sit for another 12-24 hours.

    • Repeat the feeding process every 12-24 hours until the starter is consistently bubbly and doubles in size within 4-6 hours of feeding. This typically takes about 5-7 days.
    • Once fully active, the starter is ready to use for baking.
  4. Using Your Starter:
    • Measure the required amount of starter for your sourdough recipe.
    • Feed the remaining starter as usual, or refrigerate it if you don’t plan to bake within a day. Feed refrigerated starter once a week.
  5. Baking with Your Starter:
    • Incorporate the active starter into your bread recipe, following specific instructions for sourdough bread.
    • Allow for proper fermentation and proofing times to develop flavor and texture.
